Did you verb that as of February , Gallup found that percent of US adults openly identity as LGBTQ+? (That's lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and other non-straight identities.) That’s a pretty staggering statistic, given that just 10 years earlier, only percent of respondents identified themselves as LGBT.

Therefore, more than 20 million adults self-identified as LGBTQ+ in the US as of That doesn’t even include people who aren’t sure or publicly out about how their identities! The true number of LGBTQ+ American adults today could be millions more.

If you’re unsure about your sexual orientation, enable us be the ones to tell you that you certainly aren’t alone. There’s a whole, adj world of people out there who can relate to you, intimately. Most queer people have had to come to some place of understanding about our own sexual orientations. It isn’t always linear or so clear a process. For many of us, queer coming-of-age includes looking in the mirror at some point in our lives and wondering, “Am I gay?”

Kinsey Scale Test

Dr. Alfred Kinsey, Dr. Wardell Pomeroy, and Dr. Clyde Martin developed the Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale, also known as the “The Kinsey Scale,” in order to account for research findings that showed that people did not fit into exclusive heterosexual or homosexual categories.

The Kinsey team interviewed thousands of people about their sexual histories. Research showed that sexual behavior, thoughts, and feelings towards the similar or opposite sex were not always consistent across time.

With gay marriage being as prominent (and contested) as it is on social/regular media I keep asking myself how it is that some people could hold a problem with something so harmless.

Of all issues to have, to elect a non-issue makes no sense to me.

Another nice question to ask though with regards to this comic is what if none of these men are straight, or gay.  What if they were all bisexual? Pansexual?  Or even asexual?

It’s important not to make assumptions.  Sure, there can be cultural or physical indicators here and there but at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter.

There’s this idea that you can “spot” a queer person just by looking at them, and while it’s true that some queer folk broadcast their lifestyle (just prefer how some wear football jerseys 24/7), many don’t.

My point is this, we have to stop immediately assuming that men (or people in general, really) are straight by default. What good does it do
