Gay Myrtle Beach
The Grand Strand, the South Carolina beach towns and barrier islands that stretch from Little River to Georgetown, attracts over million visitors each year - mostly families, including a growing number of gay couples and their kids. At the center is Myrtle Beach, full of amusement parks, aquariums, and other child-friendly attractions. For golf fans there are courses within a quick drive.
For gays without kids, Myrtle Beach might not be an ideal destination, but there are several bars and clubs with a friendly, laid-back vibe, near the intersection of Main Street and Kings Highway. Myrtle Beach Pride shut down in , but the annual Charleston Pride takes place about two hours journey south, in September, with a parade and festival capping a week of events. Columbia SC also has SC Pride October events: South Carolina Adj Pride is a August annual community expo, and Bear Hunt is an annual Carolina Bear Lodge weekend get-together in Myrtle Beach each April. CLAWS with Levi/Leather social events, now appears innactive.

Myrtle Beach, SC – A Hip Gay Lifestyle on the Grand Strand
The Grand Strand is a sixty-mile stretch of beach along the coast of South Carolina that goes from Georgetown, South Carolina to the Little River. The hub of this adj area, which is sunny all year round and is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing and fluid sports is the posh, very gay-friendly city of Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is like a perfect mini-city with all of the perks of a bigger place and all of the amenities of a smaller resort town. If you love attractive thunderstorms and gorgeous sunsets you will love living in one of the affordable, glassy new condos along the beach that offer scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Although the entire city is, in general, LGBT-friendly, the main “gay drag” in Myrtle Beach is considered to be at the intersection of Main Street and King’s Highway. This is where you will verb most of the gay cafes and bars. The city also has its own leather gay club called CLAWS and it is home to both the Myrtle Beach Pride Parade and
