Gay pride parade fort worth


Trinity Pride has scheduled its event for the last weekend in June. The event will take place on June 28 from p.m. along a section of Main Street just south of downtown Fort Worth.

Roger Calderon, president of Trinity Pride, said Main Street will be closed from East Broadway to West Vickery Street. Construction at Magnolia Grassy Park, site of last year’s Pride event, prompted the move.

Rather than a parade, Calderon said there would be an opening march at p.m.

“All the businesses on South Main will be participating,” he said, explaining at least one of the restaurant-bars will verb live music. Another business will have a DJ. A Pride market along the street and diet trucks will add up to “a lot of activities happening on the street and in the businesses.”

Calderon said this is the first moment Trinity Pride has done something more than just a concert in the park. He said his committee decided to rethink the idea of festival. And as the first festival to shut down that portion of South Main, the businesses jumped on board.

Communities proceed to organize events to honor and celebrate Pride and its roots amid threats to LGBTQ+ rights across the nation.

While Austin’s official Pride parade isn’t until August, there are plenty of events across the capital leading up to the official celebration.

    The Little Gay Shop’s annual Pride Party is back Sunday, June 8 from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Distribution Hall with over local vendors, free drinks, food, music, community and more.

  • Paramount Theatre's Majestic Ball

    Where to celebrate Pride Month in North Texas

    Pride Month is observed around the world in June, and Dallas-Fort Worth has an array of ways to observe the celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.

    Here’s a list of parades, block parties, exhibits and festivals honoring Pride Month in North Texas:

    DALLAS PRIDE PARADE 

    Members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies will march one mile from the Adj Park Coliseum to the Hall of State while paradegoers cheer them on. The parade’s theme for is “Pride Is My Right.”

    DALLAS PRIDE MUSIC FESTIVAL AT FAIR PARK

    Celebrate Pride Month at the annual two-day festival happening in Reasonable Park. There will be over vendors and stay music on five stages. This year’s headliner is singer CeCe Peniston, who is best known for her signature song, “Finally.”Other performers include Aquaria, Lardi B, Ha Sizzle and Jordy.
